First off, let me just applaud the customer service of this company. My son had never worn a pair of shoes since birth and with his 1st birthday arriving and the summer coming with it we decided to order him a pair of shoes. I ordered them May 14th thinking there would be no issues with them coming in before we left for his birthday trip on the 22nd. After 48 hours I read the order confirmation and, to my dismay, read that it would be up to 5 days for shipping. Now, I know I should've paid attention to this detail prior to purchase but I was planning a trip and a birthday party on his return so forgive a first time mama. I took a chance and emailed the company and explained to them my son had been walking about 3.5 months and that we were wanting their shoes so that he wouldn't hurt his feet walking in more public city areas (we live in the country with lots of land) as asphalt can burn feet during the summer. We all know how babies want to walk independently once they figure out how to do so. Thankfully, this company read my plea for earlier shipping and I received the shoes in time for our trip!\n\nNow, on to the shoes themselves. In the beginning he tripped alot, which was to be expected as he wasn't used to ever wearing them before and also they needed to be broken in. The shoes were very soft and pliable but new leather still needs to conform to the wearer. He was in between sizes so we sized up and just tightened the front buckle so his feet wouldn't slip forward. He still prefers to be barefoot but now that he is used to them he will toddle around and the softness of them allows him to feel the different textures of the ground and adjust his gait as needed.\n\nThank you so much for making a wonderful product and being my son's first pair of shoes.
